  • Create a workspace separate from your home space. This doesn’t mean building a shed in the backyard for your work (though it could). Dedicating a particular space in your home for work, like an office, a zone in the basement, or a desk in the living room, can mentally distinguish work from home life. If possible, the goal is to work in a space free of personal distractions.

Another challenge when working at home is maintaining relationships with colleagues when you never or rarely see each other. What you don’t want to do is lose your connections and collaborative spirit.

Managing Stress

Work stress can stem from not setting up good boundaries and letting work seep into your personal life, causing burnout. The best way to mitigate this is by establishing the steps above to separate work and personal life.
